I couldn’t agree more – “life is too short to learn every lesson from personal experiences”. While I believe our mishaps and challenges allow us to learn valuable lessons unique to our own individual journey, there are things we could avoid if we sought advice and feedback from mentors and coaches. And if the people around you are only telling you things you want to hear, they’re doing more harm than good. You gotta have honest and trustworthy folks in your corner.
I can’t say enough about how jumping into having a coach helped my small business. To have another point of view from an experienced person is invaluable. Particularly for owner/operators, there is a dangerous tendency to end up in a cocoon of sorts and lose touch with the big picture.
I have gone as far as I can go with the profession I chose. I am an Elementary Schoolm Counselor. There is so much more work to be done with children !! What can I do now ???
